• Carrying out various laboratory tests such as; desliming, heavy minerals separation, magnetic separation, milling, fusion, XRF analysis, loss on ignition, particle size distribution and Iron Test determination.
• Conducting prestart meeting for shift staff members briefing them on task ahead and order of priority for analysis.
• Ensuring all lab instruments and machines are well verified, calibrated and functional and recording data in checklist.
• Maintain a very high standard of Laboratory housekeeping.
• Ensuring all SOP’s are followed during analysis.
• Prioritize work load and deliver of analysis results within turn around time.
• Troubleshooting any anomalies in the instruments and analysis results.
• Ensure all analytical standards are in good condition and within range before any task.
• Monitor, control and report quality Laboratory performance through data charts.
• Ensuring safe working environment and reporting of any hazards.
• Ensuring proper usage and control of all consumables.
• Validating and approval of results in the Laboratory Information Management Systems(LIMS).
• Communicating with other departments on any required maintenance of instruments and machines in laboratory.
