Job Description/Purpose

To conduct all field and office survey work, set out of various activities and any other related activities assigned, safely and efficiently.

Job Responsibilities

  • Mining Pit & Tailings Storage Facilities Conducting
    – End of week and month end surveys
    – Setting out of cut pegs for machine operators to work to
    – Pit and TSF surveys as required
    – Setting out of mining block, TSF, backfill and SML outlines and boundaries as required/ designed
    – Setting out designed infrastructure outlines such as roads, powerlines and structures
    – Any additional survey work required for ongoing operations on the mine site.
  • Plant and Port Carrying out
    – Surveys to control excavations and maintain the plant/port layout database
    – Port shed stockpile volume surveys as requested
    – Any additional survey work required for ongoing operations at the port.
  • Instrument Operation Operation/use of
    – Total station
    – The dumpy level
    – The RTK GPS and data loggers
    – Handheld GPS
    – Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) as pilot or assistant pilot
  • Maintenance, cleaning, proper care and upkeep of survey equipment
  • Reporting any faulty survey equipment
  • Survey data management.
  • Ensuring field data collection is done correctly and accurately.
  • Ensure field collected data is uploaded to the survey computers after completed jobs.
  • Provide where possible, field notes, sketches and any other useful information to further elaborate field collected data.
  • Assist where possible in making field data interpretations and plotting of drawings and maps.

Key Achievement

I did in construction of Milalani-Mivumoni -Kilulu road project (RWC405). I performed topographic survey, setting out, and levelling which insured of the road successfully and accurate completion of Milalani-Mivumoni -Kilulu road project (RWC405).
