Responsible for operating and maintaining equipment and machinery in the plant environment.

• Commission Mineral Separation Plant (MSP) where Heavy Mineral Concentrate (HMC) from the Pretorius Concentrator Plant (PCP) is separated into the saleable products i.e. Ilmenite, Rutile and Zircon
• Ensuring that safety standard is followed to the later and repairs are carried out according to work instructions and safety requirements/procedures
• Controlling and monitoring fluidized Bed dryers of Capacity 84tph for HMC feed, 35tph Re-heater for Rutile feed and Zircon Dryer
• And ensuring that all separators such as rare earth drums, rare earth rolls and high tension rolls are in good condition during operation always
• Ensuring that samples are taken for analysis in time for proper quality control of products as by company target
• Ensure production loss and equipment failure are kept to minimum
• Ensure maintenance personnel are appropriately consulted and informed
• Ensure that breakdowns are rectified cost-effectively and in the shortest time possible, maintenance is done without damage to or interference with other parts or system
• Promoting and maintain safe and clean working environment
• Monitoring and controlling pumps flow, pressures, densities and tones throughout the system in wet plant as well as reporting any abnormally on equipment conditions
• Built and maintained strong working relationships with other team members, management and other departments to improve production delivery times and targets as well as minimizing downtimes.
• Carry out basic machinery and tool maintenance efficiently, minimizing operational downtime.
  Permit to work Authorizer/ Isolation
  – Ensure that JSA is filled correctly before issuing work permit.
  – Ensure correct permit is issued for the job.
  – Ensure proper isolation is done.
  – Following LOTO procedures for isolation.

Promote teamwork with shift team which improved shift performance.

Monitor and improve manufacturing processes.

• Carrying out production processes within the company and ensuring achievement of quality targets of products.
• Checking out and reporting ongoing equipment and facilities installation projects.
• Carrying out maintenance of equipment so as to meet production target.
• Operation of Horizontal mills with capacity of 275 TPH Raw mill, 30 TPH Coal mill
• Control operation of Double Impact Rotary Crusher with capacity of 850tph
• Operated 60m long and 4m diameter with production of 3000 TPD Rotary Kiln with Preheater.
• Ensured targeted quality production is achieved as per desired product quality target
• Ensuring smooth running of the plant operations without or minimum downtime.
• Coordinating with production team to sort out problems arising and hampering production
• Upholding safety and good housekeeping standards in line with environmental, health and safety policies
• To carry out inspections and maintenance of the process equipment during shutdowns and Supervision of spillage cleaning work during shutdowns
• Ensuring availability of tools and spares required for shift process teams
• Preparing and maintaining continues daily production reports and log sheets.
• Followed detailed mixing instructions precisely, monitoring equipment, temperature and taking test samples at specified times.
